I’m looking for some advice for a monitor to run path pilot on. I have just setup my PCNC 440 today and I opted not to go for the TS monitor. I’m temporarily using a 22” Acer. but I’d like to upgrade to something better that would allow the use of PP in the portrait mode, I’m based in the UK and would like some suggestions from Amazon for a good monitor to run PP on.
Here is what I have been using on my 440 in portrait mode and how to set it up. I don’t think it would be that hard to find this model across the pond.
If you’re not worried about touchscreen functionality, any 16:9 monitor should work fine. Unfortunately, I’m not much help if you’re looking for a touchscreen option. Monoprice used to be the brand to get as they seemed to play nice with PP (I’ve had one for quite a while now), but I’m not seeing them on Amazon anymore.
I’m on the west coast of Scotland up in the highlands….
Should we start a WhatsApp group? I know of another gentleman up here in Scotland with a 440, that makes four of us… I’m sure we have lots to share with each other, I’m a complete novice to the world of CNC…
I know David Lomes has a 440 and Watchmaker Mike runs a 770 or 1100 in Church Stretton. Steam Workshop in West Yorks have an 1100. There are a few of us around. It would be useful to be able to compare notes with other owners. I run a blog at www.altrish.co.uk
Does it matter which controller I have. Mine is an earlier series 3 pnc1100. originally shipped with mach3. I did have to replace a card of some type when upgrading.
I upgraded to PathPilot when that became available and am using a 22” monitor from an earlier PC I had. But the portrait mode doesn’t work. Do I need a newer video card or more memory?
