I recently did a servo upgrade to my 770M+. This issue is intermittent and not consistent but the Y axis faults on startup of the machine when I go to home it. It only happens if it’s close to the home position. I also sometimes cannot move the Y axis away from the home position without applying pressure to the table in the direction I want to move with my arm. Once it’s moved and homed it works just fine but on startup it faults. Anyone else have this issue?
@Garrett_Moran What you could try to do is apply some general purpose grease on the bumper at the end of the Y ball screw. It’s possible that the bumper is binding when it makes contact. See if this helps. If not, feel free to reach out to Tormach Technical Support.
That seems to have helped, at least for now (right after applying the grease). Time will tell I guess. So my machine now homes by bump stopping and not the limit switches?
