XoomSpeed post and MicroArc

After figuring out (again) that I have to check max tools and set it to 999 when I use the XoomSpeed post. I verified that it does indeed support 4th axis rotary.

I was hoping that I could use the “unwind” true/false setting to avoid unwind when it’s not needed and also to add the code to calculate a short unwind (I’m much happier editing the XoomSpeed post).

At the moment without any changes changing “Rotary table unwind” to “false” or “0” doesn’t seem to have any effect. The post still puts a “G0 A0.” at the end of the .nc file (or is this fusion command go to A 0).

Am I missing something stupid or misunderstanding what this post option is suppose to do?

Anyhow, just living with it now until I can spend the time to sort it out.

You can always delete that line from the end of the gcode file.

yes that’s the solution for now.

I’ll still probably add the mod-360 unwind later.

I know the unwind option is in fusion 360 in the post menu (when you are posting out) I’m camping so I can’t look now.

Enjoy your camping!
The XoomSpeed does have an unwind option in post by changing it from the default “true” to either “false” or “0” did not change my post .nc output. I’ve got to look into that at some point. Not a big deal, I delete the line when I notice it’s annoying. However that leaves the A axis with a large wind. The next run starts with a command to A0 or somewhere near and hence the “unwind” happens then!
Unless I remember to zero A after (or before) each run.

Still getting used to working with the rotary axis.
Thanks.
(and again, enjoy your camping! :tent: :slightly_smiling_face:

There is a script that divides the A coordinate by 3360 then sets the remainder to the current angle. I can’t remember where I saw it though.

is there any videos showing how you add the post into your post processor in fusion? I’m a CNC Novice and this would be very helpful…

It’s really easy to use a different post, no need for a video.

It’s in the manufacture manage pull-down group, post library or the icon of sheets of paper with a big G on it.

From there just choose the my posts folder on there left, cloud or local and then the import option choice on top of the right panel.

Then just choose it when you post process a setup or op
