Interesting. Wondering what you do often enough with a pen in your mill that makes it worth the effort to make the adaptor. Regardless, looks like a good job.
For a one off I would just put it in a drill chuck.
The pen holder comes in quite handy when I build for example wooden toys (as explained in my video).
I thought about just using a drill chuck, but the issue with that is, that the pressure on the tip of the pen then depends entirely on the “depth of cut”.
With a spring (or weight-) loaded design you’ll get consistent pressure and therefore consistent line thickness even on surfaces which are not entirely flat (like on wood).
