Toolpost on the 15L

I bought a used 15L and it had the long t-slot gang plate on it. It really restricts the diameter of the part. I took it off and am making a thicker riser

I see Tormach sells the cxa size, I have a bxa size on my manual 1440. I can’t see the advantage of the larger size. My current one uses 3/4 tools. Being able to swap tools is an advantage to me.

I might cut the gang plate shorter for holding a drill chuck.

Any one else go with the smaller toolpost.

I bought a 40 position QCTP years ago. Chinese, holds 5/8” tools. Love it. Very repeatable and does all the angles I need.

I bought a gang plate and cut it for clearance.
