A couple few years back I bought the 770MX. I needed a project that would get me into the programming and setups. So I settled on the steam engines. A bit pricey but seem to be worth it. The plans left a lot of room for tolerencing so I just made it as close as I could and adjusted fit as I went. Learned a lot about order of operations between the lathe and mill, and holding small parts. They’ll run off compressed air, safer for the grandkids.
