My 770M came with really nice to use press-fit fittings for the air line. (I’m sure they are common, but this is the first I’ve see and used them)
I’m looking to make some modifications and need a source for matching fittings and lines. I want to add a small blast line to use inside of the enclosure.
Yeah, this was what I was missing. I finally realized I had a leftover piece of air line from my install and it had “automation direct” printed on it. So I jump over to their site and soon found the terminology I needed to search.
Also realized that I’m not going to need any push to connect fittings anyhow.
I got a coil line hose and hand nozzle from AD - both are 1/4" fittings. AND my 770 air line ends with a push to connect to brass fitting with an air compressor hose quick connect on it.
So I just need a standard tee to connect all three and I’m good.
Anyone else: Search for “push to connect” air fittings.
Like other things Amazon, I ran into some issues with Amazon push-to-connect fittings interchanging metric and the closest imperial value as being equivalent… which leaked quite a bit depending on the exact air line size, so caveat emptor there.
I have been using them for everything for a couple years and I get the connectors and hose from Amazon. The cheap ones seem to work just as well as the brand name ones (that are also from china). Only thing is the hoses burst sometimes as they are not all resistant to oil, coolant.
Something I became aware of only in the past few years is the availability of bonded air tubing. We sell it in 4mm bonded duplex (Tormach 4mm Bonded Duplex Tubing - SKU 50938) but you can get it in a wide variety of configurations, e.g.
It’s great for connections to pneumatic vises, robot end-of-arm tooling, etc.
