Software ESTOP Motor Z fault

Our PCNC 1100 Series 3 machine seems to work for a few hours, then randomly gives the errors “Software E-STOP triggered” and “Motor axis Z has faulted.” I experienced this issue and noticed that the Z-axis stepper drive had charring around the “W” connection to the CCA. After replacing the stepper driver, the same fault continued to occur when the tool release is triggered. I checked the Z-motor resistance and the resistance from the wires to the chassis, and all readings appear to be good. I’m not sure what to check next.

Charred is definitely open a ticket.
