Reverse Flow Smoker

After building my first offset smoker I received a lot of request for customized smokers from friends and family. I decided to take a commission job and build a reverse flow smoker. Unlike the offset smoker, a reverse flow smoker has plates underneath the cooking area and releases the smoke at the end of the smoker to then travel back to the same side as the heat box. This design allows for the meat to be cooked by heat underneath the cook area and then by smoke on top. This smoker also contained an insulated fire box and custom wheels. It took me about 4 weeks to build this smoker and I loved every minute of it. Having the Tormach 1300 plasma table at my disposal makes designing and cutting custom parts super easy and fun. It almost gets me in trouble because I tend to over complicate parts that I make because it is so easy to design and cut out. The smoker turned out great and my customer was super happy. He said this smoker cut his cook time down in half. I was very satisfied to hear that. It will be a while before I make another smoker, I am now into making wood fire pizza ovens. I will post that project soon! Stay tuned

That is a beast of a smoker! Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to see the pizza oven.

This is such a cool project, makes me want to grab the meat out of my freezer and start BBQing. Excellent submission for the holiday gift.
