Hi everyone, after replacing the sensor on my Rapidturn (thanks Tormach for sending a replacement), I am still having issues getting this thing to run. I keep getting the error for correct RPM not detected, and the program just stops. Sometime it will run if I crank the speed up and down once the program starts. Adjusted sensor position at different distances in relation to flag. Has there been a fix for this (seemingly common) issue? It’s been about 3 years since I last put this thing on the table.
Do you have a picture of the error message?
I had the same issue when I purchased my Rapidturn. Tormach sent a replacement and it did not work for all rpms either. I worked with Katie at Tormach and asked them to test the 2nd replacement before sending it out. That solved the problem for me at the time. I hooked up an ocsilloscope during the troubleshooting and I could see the signal dropping out at various rpm/frequency ranges. Most likely inconsistent frequency performance of the sensors. This was in Jan 2021
Thanks Patrick! Very helpful post. I am hooking it up to an oscilloscope to confirm the same thing. The inductive sensor that Tormach uses isn’t the best quality, Wondering if a better quality (Omron, etc.) sensor might save me more headache rather than another Winston branded piece of hardware.
Hi Robert, have tried two sensors and I am still getting the same issue. I have set the sensor to flag gap per instructions. Have also verified that there sensor is sending a signal (at lower rpm’s) via the accessory light and oscilloscope. I have updated to the most recent version of pathpilot. The below message has been consistent since I fist tried to use this lathe. What are my options?
Thank you,
Justin
