Correct way to mount a RH cutter for cutting in a Z+ direction? The manual says to use reverse motor direction, but the cutter doesn’t cut when I do. I’m a newbie At milling and turning having picked up a used machine. Do I hav e to reverse mount the cutter in the tool holder?
Coincidentally I was cleaning out my pictures earlier and stumbled into a video I took when running a RapidTurn on my 770M. I ran the spindle forward in this setup.
I had to take a still of a video so I hope this is legible.
Thank you. To make a 4" long chamfer cut I ended up running the spindel forward also, all though the pathpiolt manual says for Z+ cuts to reverse the spindle and I ended up destroying the cutter. Thank you for your input. I used a similar setup as you pictured
