I am getting an error message when I jog the Z axis up after a probing routine. I was wondering if anyone has seen this before. I am using the wireless probe kit from XoomSpeed, it has worked well for a year or so. Below is the error message I get.
13:34:37 | Probe input changed during a jog on axis Z. Restore probe and press Reset to re-enable operation

@Scott_Dube Sounds like the probe itself could be sticking and tripping. But I am not overly familiar with this aftermarket kit.
It really has no impact on the mechanical operation of the Tormach probe. It merely replaces the wire. Have you seen this behavior with the standard wired probe? I am thinking it’s vibration on the retract of the Z just don’t know why it’s just starting now…
Thanks
Sticking probe tip or wiring are really the main two options. Pull on the probe tip, does it pop back into position?
I’d spray some alcohol into the probe and manually move it around then blow into it with some air. Mine did that a couple times. Probably just crap building up inside.

Agree on sticking probe. I’ve also seen PathPilot do this when you start the probing routine super close to the surface to be probed. I think it was that error at least? Either way, don’t store your probe inside the cabinet! It’ll collect coolant most and be prone to sticking. I pull mine out when done probing and just leave the wire in there for easy reattachment.
