Pcnc 440 probing cylindrical surface

Hello,

Trying to probe a cylindrical surface. Using HSMWorks and PathPilot and the Tormach passive probe. I have used the built in PathPilot circular boss routine before and it works great. The difference in this case is that the part is on its side such that the probe would be working in the zx plane. Tried changing the plane to zx and running the built in routine but it didn’t work. There is a straightforward way by offsetting from a reference surface for this part or rotating and splitting jaw distance but I am wondering if there is a way to probe a cylindrical surface in this orientation and get the rough center point.

Thanks for any suggestions - just trying to learn some of the things you can do with the probing routines.

@Drew_Miller I don’t know HSMWorks so I can’t advise on that. However, I believe the built in probing routines withing PathPilot will work here. He is a video link to the section that makes sense for your issue.

Thank you that was perfect. Great video.
