Pathpilot usb webcamera network access

Is there any way to access a Path-pilot USB Camera in real time across an intranet?

I need to be able to check on work in real time from workstations remote from my CNC machines.

Previously, I would co-locate a PC with the machine and link a web camera from there to other workstations on my network. That way I can monitor CNC machines and 3D printers, in real time, from anywhere (in the world).

I can’t find anything documented.

I think that would overtax the pc. I have the console and it’ seems very single task oriented. I use a security camera to remote monitor.

Pathpilot does not support remote viewing of the Webcam. You would need to us an ip based camera or some other external solution.

Dr_Harold_Jones - They advertise it as being able to support 4 USB cameras, so I’m skeptical that it would be overtaxed. And streaming it to a internal file from 4 separate cameras likely takes a lot more CPU horsepower than dropping it on a network.

Davie - Thats what I’ve done previously. You’d think that Path Pilot would include this capability. Even low-end 3D printers support web camera streaming. And they use pretty low end ARM processors.

Thanks for the input. I would hope that Tormach could up its game on commercial products.

3D printer glitches from a network error and maybe a bit of plastic goes in the wrong place.

Standalone outdoor IP cameras can be had for $20-$30 these days.

At Tormach HQ we use these Reolink cameras to monitor unattended operation of (for example) our robot/1500MX workcell that we occasionally set up to manufacture parts:

They work in the dark, they have phone apps for Android/IOS, they have a great desktop app, well worth the money.
