Pathpilot controller stuck. Boots straight to safe to restart splash screen

When turning on our new to us 1100MX after troubleshooting other issues. Path pilot loads past its first splash screen, then it goes to the background screen with the cursor loaded in, and then after a short wait the safe to power off controller splash screen comes on.

It may be worth noting that we upgraded from Path Pilot 2.10.1 to the latest available 2.12.3
However, we had rebooted since the update just fine earlier today.

I’m assuming you mean the jog wheel. You could unplug it before you boot.
I think you can plug it in after booting but I’m not sure. If that gets the system booted then you can conquer the next problem.

I would try to roll back to the previous version then reupgrade. Do you have a recovery usb with pathpilot on it?

You can either buy it from Tormach (inconvenient if you want to be running this weekend) or check out this site X BOSS Probing Routine

I’m not sure this will workout for you as you already have an issue, but worth investigating.

I would also try to reboot without anything not absolutely necessary plugged into the controller. ie usb cameras or anything else you can do without for a test or two.

Hi all, I was able to get the system up again just now. I broke out to the os to go log diving and found the pathpilot was segfaulting due to an issue with one of its dependencies.

Out of desperation I ran an apt update && upgrade and tested the app again and it is now working even after reboot.

The best I can guess is that some dependency was not updated when I ran the upgrade and so me updating the system packages manually resolved the issue.

I have already ordered the usb in the event something else goes wrong.
