I’ve spent some time recently trying to find a local supplier for waylube so I wouldn’t have to pay for shipping and take a hit on the currency exchange but my search only came up with 5 gallon pails. I knew at some point I saw a 1 gallon container of waylube on the Tormach store so I came back here to buy it (order already placed) but had no luck finding it through the drop down menu on the store front.
There appears to be a lot of items you wouldn’t know Tormach sells unless you search for it, which is how I found the way lube again, or further down the product page in the “You May Like” section where similar or related products are featured. While I was trying to navigate to the way lube myself after seeing the listing did exist I also came across the Tormach Gear at the bottom of the webpage too.
I might be missing something but it seems like a slam dunk to add a “Consumables” or “More Supplies” category and break it into standard shop supplies, fluids and liquids, or whatever other categories that are missed with the current category sorting method in place.
1 gallon. I think robots will takeover the earth before you go through that. I still have 4.9 gallons from the time of the dinosaurs. Seriously though I just use way oil. Am I supposed to be using way lube?
I don’t think there is a difference in terminology beyond regional or dialect differences. This is how one website I visited listed the product while I was searching for a local option
Either way I still believe there is an opportunity to increase the visibility of not only this product, but all products that aren’t captured with the current drop down organization on the store front
I’ve been using the McMaster 68 way oil in gallons for a long time now. It works well and seems to have more tackifiers than Mobil Vactra. Looks similar to what Tormach sells.
I saw they have a sulfur-less “clear” version now that looks interesting although they say it is not quite as good against wear, it might cut the stink on little-used machines.
