New York City area - Can I visit to see your 8L?

I am the manager of a small aerospace machine shop in Brooklyn, New York. We are considering the purchase of an 8L for some small, low volume work. We need to adapt an air closer to the 5C spindle so it would help if we could see this machine in person to assess this possibility.
We are Linda Tool, located in Red Hook, Brooklyn (lindatool.com). If you are willing to let us visit let me know. Thanks

Hey! I’m not from or in NY, but I recall a well-known Youtuber, NYC-CNC, getting an 8L a few years back. I have no idea where in NYC he is, or even IF he is, but he comes across as a genuine guy that would want to help if he could. We have an 8L (Vernon, Alabama) and it does what it needs to do for us. I’m having a little trouble visualizing an air closer on it, but I have no experience with air closers so don’t let that discourage you. We also have a 1950’s LeBlond manual lathe with a 5C collet setup and the two are almost identical in design and function with the exception being the Tormach uses a spanner wrench for tightening/loosening and the LeBlond is a hand wheel. Best of luck!
P.S. Some folks have rigged up gang tooling for the 8L. That’s probably the next upgrade for us.

Hi David,
If you are willing to travel to West Orange, NJ, we can (happily) address your needs.

Hi David- I have an 8L in Woodstown, NJ setup for making pens. I’d be happy to go over the machine, the software, and my experiences with tech support since getting the machine about a year ago. Feel free to reach out!
