Any specs? Do you need water coolant proof?
They sell them everywhere in the girls aisle for kids and webcam ppl. You could probably get the $20 one and seal it up with clear silicon and use it for 6 months until it breaks. Then replace it for $20 and repeat. A pro feasional sealed ring light will cost at least. Couple hundred dollars and probably not survive much longer. Probably looking at custom dive gear for a durable sealed ring light that will last forever and probably $800 at least. A lot depends on the aperture size. You can find ring lights for fountains but they seem to be mostly for 1-2 inch pipe.
I had a light ring on my Precision Matthews 822 mill. I purchased it from Super Bright LEDs. I measured the quill diameter and found the appropriate size light ring like this one…Headlight light ring.
However, I then had to purchase a 120volt to 12 volt converter and wire it all up ( I 3D printed a junction box). After it was all done, I thought it worked well but then discovered that there were actually shadows from the tooling that fell on the workpiece. It was a fun project but not sure if I would go that route again.
I ended up selling that mill and bought a large Sharp knee mill and decided to go a different route. I purchased what they call a “sewing machine light.” They are magnetic and attach anywhere. Sewing machine light from Amazon. I don’t use flood coolant with my Tormach, so not sure how they would hold up against that.
Hey Neil, thanks for the suggestion. I was gonna keep it simple by layout a few ‘chip’ LEDs on a 3d printed part (2AA would run it) so i don’t have to mess with more wires. But that 'sewing light seems nice and easy fix for my needs.
thanks for the tip.
(no enclosure, coolant, or chip pan on my set up)

Headlight ring lights work very well, this type is very bright: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002043042040.html
Does a ring light provide any additional illumination that is useful/noticeable if you already have two enclosure flood lamps?
