Laser engrave tool holders

So far the Qualichem 251 is not eating the paint. It’s early so we’ll see but it definitely gets behind the labels Tormach uses to brand the machine. Seems like they would have accounted for that…

The 251c has no affect on Tormachs paint
There are some coolants especially those designed for titanium that will strip the paint quickly

As far as the labels go
Are you using Brother Strong Adhesive labels?

If I want to change a label it takes a minute with a razor blade…. They are literally welded on

I have a Brady label maker and use their labels. I don’t think the coolant is causing them to come off. I think it’s the mechanical action of the ATC that’s causing the issue.

Yea you should not have any issues with the Qualichem with paint. Hopefully my new coolant will not from here on out.

Not that I don’t like the idea BUT there is an entire conversation to be had with unbalanced tools with this approach IMO. Even though that looks like only basswood or ply and those little number tags on the outside don’t have any weight or mass on them I still think its a concern and not an approach I would take. Just my 2 cents.

I think the plan is to remove the tag when you load it in the machine.

Definitely do NOT run the tool in the mill with the collar on! I think the extra tool length gained by the collar would cause a lot more trouble than the offset mass
