Laser Edge/Center Finder (Center Spot) with Low Profile TTS™ Holder

How do you check the the laser to make sure it is centered, if not how to adjust it?

Can’t you spin it slowly and see if the spot moves? I tried looking for it but I couldn’t find a laser edge finder.

They are all over the place, although I’ve not seen one with a dedicated TTS holder, they come with standard shanks. I fooled with one a long time ago that had four set screws to zero it like a 4-jaw chuck, but eventually I went with more-accurate mechanical and electronic edge finders.

Mark a spot on your table with a marker.

With the laser in the spindle, jog the laser close to the dot in z and line it up in xy. Get it as close in z as you are comfortable while also keeping it aligned on xy.

Jog straight up in z all the way.

Adjust the laser to line back up with the dot you marked.

This is very similar to aligning headlights of you have done that before.

Once you are lined up, spin it by hand to check. You might need to repeat the steps to dial out in.
