I would like some input on the xsTech router. I have a fair amount of little (.20X.35) parts to make out of 6061 aluminum and I’m wonder if it would be capable? No crazy tolerances and I would expect pretty conservative feeds & speeds. I would set it up with an air mist system and would probably get an SMW mod vise for Op. 2. There’s not a ton of videos on it actually machining so any info and advice will be apricated.
May be fine. I can maybe make one on my xstech and let you know how it turns out
Late to the party / recent xsTech user…
I have cut aluminum on it. It requires patience. A LOT of patience. Feeds and speeds from ProvenCut are helpful.
Definitely would want low profile vise/SMW plate for 1” thick. I was able to cut 1/2” with a mini vise. I even had one job that ran on the order of 3 hours.
My patience to continue to push the limits of the xsTech on aluminum has run out since I had a chance to work with a Tormach that ships on a pallet…
