The gas spring that holds up the safety shield on my lathe no longer holds it up. Is there any maintenance I can do on it now to improve its holding strength?
Barring that, is there a suitable replacement for it? Maybe a McMaster part number?
I just ordered one from Tormach, it was not that expensive
