I’m working on some plate-shaped parts, using superglue to hold them down. But they have operations on both sides, and ensuring they are oriented parallel to the bed can be challenging.
In my case, I have a couple of through-holes at opposite ends of the part. It should be possible to locate those using the probe, and then have PathPilot rotate the program to align to the known locations.
I know the Haas controller can do this. I see no reason why PathPilot can’t.
TIA!

I think this is rumoured to be in development for tpath pilot 11.

Rick,
Work coordinate rotation exists in Pathpilot, but there are a large number of bugs in it, particularly around jogging and probing. A probing macro to apply rotation based on hitting two points of an edge is fairly easy to implement, and I know is available in some suites of probing macros, but I don’t know of anyone who has implemented a macro based on probing two hole locations. That’s not to say that it can’t be done, but it is not a common use case afaik.
For any feature requests that you’d like to get in front of the Pathpilot team’s eyes, please submit a feature request ticket here, as they do not actively monitor the forums.
Thank you,
Norman
