Extracting a machine from Fusions machine library for use in design space

Hey all,

This quesion is probably better suited for the Fusion forums, but I’ll ask here anyway. Im sure others have looked for this as well.

I just looked this up, and according to Google’s AI answer, it says No. I want to know if it’s possible to extract a machine from the manufacturing workspace machine library and use it inside the design space. I need a fully functional jointed machine model for evaluating long-reach tooling and machine setups. Ive been using one of the models, I think I got it from Tormach but its not joined in any way.

OR does anyone know where I can get a fully jointed, accurate model of the 1100M with exact machine max travels?

Nyc cnc used to offer this on their website but I haven’t gone looking for it on a while. I think it was for their patreon members, though

Could you not add the joints yourself to the model you have?

It seems for your purpose you just need the 3 axis to move each way to their limits…no reason to worry about the ball screw spinning etc.

After reading your post again, I see what you’re saying now, you cant view the machine in the design space to modify it. I thought there was a downloadable model from Tormach though?

I think you’re going to find you need to build the machine up for the simulation environment.

We publish simplified solid models for this purpose. They aren’t joined but that shouldn’t be a hard nut to crack.

Thank you, guys, for the input. I got it worked out. A guy on the Fusion forum added the joints and uploaded the file. LMK if any of you guys want it.

I’d love to check it out!

Here you go Scott,

I have not verified the Min and Max axis movement yet. The values that are defined are from the 1100M simulation model machine builder.
