When I load a dxf file the preview window will show the outline and holes from which I can select in/out/on for the tool.
After I save the nc file or reload the dxf file, the preview window is blank and no matter what I have tried will not display anything. However if I click around in the blank preview section, it does find objects as if they are there. I just can’t see them.
As I recall in the previous software version of PathPilot this happened once in a while. But reloading the dxf file always brought the preview section back. This issue appears to be a result of the software upgrade?
Any ideas?
Do you have the preview window set to only show current tool?
The first pic shows the preview window. The preview window will never show anything after the nc file is saved. Even if the dxf file is loaded again.
I misunderstood and thought you were talking about the graphics preview on the Main tab. I don’t know much about the DXF tab as I’ve never actually used it. That being said, the obvious difference between those two pictures besides the preview window is that the layers are not highlighted in the second one. Does highlighting them bring the preview back up?
Good idea. I went and checked.
When each path (0 thru 4) is highlighted, the line in the drawing changes color to indicate it was chosen. If the path is not highlighted the line in the drawing is white.
This is how it works until the nc file is saved (posted). After that the preview window is always blank no matter what I do. If i leave the DXF screen and come back to it. A message appears in the preview window to “click to load preview”. Clicking on the screen then removes the message and the preview window is blank.
In that case, I would agree this is a bug. If you haven’t already, you should report it to Tormach. They are typically very responsive to this sort of thing. A fix is likely to be pushed out in the next update or two.
I opened a support ticket. They said they would hand this over to the path pilot people.
Installed PathPilot 2.10.1 and the problem goes away. Definitely a PathPilot 2.12.1 problem.
