Hello,
Trying to treadmill a few 9/16-18 ID items but cannot find that information in the drop down on path pilot conversational
Does anyone have experience adding custom threads to path pilot and can share a sample how it is done?
Also does Path Pilot support 3/8-18 npt thread milling?
I’m new to the Tormach community, but do have vocational knowledge in machining. From what I’ve read here, the Path Pilot software is capable of rigid tapping holes. Thread milling uses a single point thread mill that uses a spiral path to create the thread. Ridgid tapping uses a regular milling thru tap for thru holes or bottom tap for blind holes and if all parameters are set correctly for depth, feed, and rpm will provide a quicker threaded hole.

Our machines are able to cut both custom and NPT threads using a threadmill, however if you are trying to cut a thread that does not have a pre-generated routine available in the PathPilot conversational programming tab, then you would need to write your own program for the tool path either using CAM software or by hand.
