Can the 1100mx coolant pump oil?

Just starting the process of machining some magnesium parts and I am wondering if I can pump mineral oil through the coolant pump on the 1100mx? If not Is there an oil coolant solution for these machines?

I am thinking of just blocking up the drains at the end of the table and using a small pump on top of the table in the end gullies, then flood the T-slots on top with oil. That way I don’t have to buy a thousand bottles of baby oil to fill the coolant sump.

The coolant pump that comes with the 1100MX is 1/8 HP, which in theory could pump oil as long as it isn’t too viscus, however since the pump was not designed to do that we can not give any specific recommendations.

We would however strongly advise against machining magnesium with any of our machines. Magnesium is highly flammable and requires special equipment which is not available on our products to machine safely.
