We setup and ran the bandsaw yesterday all day without issue. But today the feed bed is moving very sluggish and keeps throwing E16. When the E-Stop is hit the bed slams forward. I thought the material was binding but 99% certain that its not that. We are bundle cutting 10pc 3/8 x 1 flat bar in 2 stacks of 5 in the flat. I tried lubing the worm gear but didnt seem to help.
Also when the machine is off and all pressure off vises the feed bed is really stiff to move and has a spring action to it kinda. Like if we pull it to the stop itll retract a little and pull it again it will stay.
Any help would be awesome.
Disconnect and reconnect the servo cables for the feed bed sounds like one of the servo pins has an oxidized connection. Then reboot.
Wanted to leave a update. Thank you Dr. Jones for the input.
This was actually a great example of double checking setup. While we did initially adjust the feed bed vertically. We failed to tighten the roller in plane. What we think was happening was the material was dragging just enough to cause the feeder to drag with to much resistance.
We have been bundle cutting 10pc of 3/8x1" flat bar 2-3/16" long all day with out hickup. With our current process time. It looks like the machine will have paid for itself in 5 months. Which is crazy good ROI on a piece of equipment IMO.
