Anyone here added an extension cable to there left mounted Micro Arc? Mine is on the left and I’d like to add a cable extension to route the cable out the back left side of the enclosure. I just don’t like the cable crossing over the Y cross slide with all the chip build up.
I asked Tormach support on this and Robert says it’s possible. Just wanted to see if anyone here has done this and if it worked without issues with the Micro Arc?
No reason it can’t be done, just need to source the correct inline cable connectors. It’s only a 4 wire cable. The “best” way would be to find a set of M/F connecters that match the existing ones. Mine have a screw twist close outer shell. Then just make a matching extension from them.
Second option (which I’ve done for probes) is to find a connector cable end pair that you are happy using and then cut the existing MicroArc cable end off, add your new male end then make an “adaptor” cable using the original male end so you can connect to the cabinet A connector again.
Let me know what you find / source - I’d very much like to do the same in the near future. Right now I’m just running the cable under the mill and out the right side back along with the rest of the cables.
