Was running the 1st part on my company’s NEW 8L. 5 minutes in the spindle and carriage stop moving, i looked at my screen and it was all black with semi large static colored blocks all over( see picture). Did a power cycle since nothing was responding, and all i get is “attempting communication with lathe machine” popup, i haven’t been able to move past this point. Any idea’s
Brand new. Probably something loose. I would say open er up and check the usb cables and reconnect all the plugs. Also open a ticket first though. Support will probably call you back before you finish typing.

check the ethernet cable that goes from the operator console to the lathe cabinet. I have a 15L so I’m not sure what the connection looks like on the lathe side on the 8L but on mine there is a box that converts the ethernet cable to a 25 pin connector. That’s where I’d start.

Solution found. Even though i had done several power cycles to try and fix the issue, the fix was leaving everything unplugged overnight. I plugged everything back in the next morning and the machine fired up no problem. I still have to figure out why it happened in the 1st place but at least i can run it for now.
