7i92th mesa + new comp + pcnc1100 s3

Hey all, my original pcnc1100 pc is RIP.
I’m setting up a replacement with 7i92th + newer pc build + pcnc1100 s3.

I am using the one pathpilot upgrade usb.

I get through most of the install to select a pcnc 1100 machine, then it gets frozen on a blank Linux screen. Linux is fully functional here, I can run terminal etc…

The mesa card seems to be communicating to the pcnc board as it will perform the mesa programming. Also if I select to install on a 1100m, it does recognize that i do not have an ecm1 board.

Any ideas on how to get through the install?

I am not experienced with Linux

I have tried multiple path pilot firmware also.

Thanks everyone.

If you are using the PP restore drive that is older then it probably won’t support the newer 7i92.
Try loading PP from USB then at the configuration screen, instead of selecting your machine, upgrade to the latest version of PP via thumb drive.
PP updates here

Thanks Davie, I tried the 2.12.1 again and the previous 5 firm wares with no success.

It freezes after the machine selection.

Any other ideas? I do know the pcnc board is ok, as my friends pc works on it just fine.

Is your Mesa card jumpered to use 10.10.10.10 IP address?
Is it the only device on your ethernet port?
If you have more than 1 ethernet port, disable the one not connected to the Mesa.

Also worth looking at the log file for errors and messages.

Yes the ip is set correctly and pathpilot completed the mesa card update too.

How and where can I find the log file?

Any thoughts? Thanks

looks like I have some compatibility/ configuration issue with the pc I am using.

I borrowed another pcnc pc and plugged in the 7i92t and the cnc + pathpilot works fine.

I called it a day, found a old dell comp for cheap on fb marketplace

don’t try to build a newer pc. (AMD 5500gt + Asus a520 does not work)

This works:

Dell 7050 (set to legacy boot)
i5 7500
M2 ssd pcie
7i92T mesa card (change ip to 10.10.10.10)
2.12 pathpilot firmware

Pathpilot Fires right up
