770 failing to startup - external estop

Today my 770 did not startup

  • Im getting a burned smell form inside the cabinet … :frowning:
  • The error message is External e-Stop requested (I have No external estop connected)
Looking at the Debug screen i see the Input (state ) [ Emergeny Stop on MC ] flashing red

-I’m suspecting the main control board as I we are blowing F1 PN # 30162

Question : any other thing I should check before I replace that board ?

Georg

Definitely open a ticket. Burning smell is danger.

I don’t have the wiring diagram in front of me. What does F1 connect to/provide power to? While it’s not impossible, it seems unlikely that there would be a short on the control board unless a chip somehow got in there and bridged a couple components. Even then, I’d expect a capacitor/transistor/IC to blow long before a fuse does (though that might explain your burning smell).
Before you replace the board, do a thorough visual inspection of it. Blown components are pretty easy to spot. Capacitors will either be broken or swollen depending on the type, anything else will be broken and/or very obviously burnt. If you don’t find any clear signs of burning, I would probably look elsewhere for the fault, starting at that fuse and tracing where the power goes until you see the short.
