My X axis on my cnc 1100 loses its place and the chatters and then will only move in the negative direction

This situation sounds very similar to a problem I had recently with a failing driver on my PCNC 1100. Katie at Tormach helped me troubleshoot it and sure enough, there was some burned wiring that is a telltale that the driver was failing. Like was suggested, open a trouble ticket, or just call tech support and ask for Katie. She’s an awesome troubleshooter.
