PCNC 440 enclosure modifications for less problematic flood coolant usage

Has anyone bored hole(s) directly underneath the center of the machine in the chip pan (and the top of the cabinet stand) to route the coolant directly down or other location? Given the four metal pads and support beams, it doesn’t seem like this would compromise the stand structurally, which is the main concern. I’m thinking about on the order of at least a 1-2” diameter (or more). I want the chips to go down this path and collect in a tray/strainer and separated from the coolant before it returns to the reservoir.

There is a gap between the ATC housing (the box for electronics/pneumatics) and the enclosure where the cover plate that’s is left in place for a non-ATC install. I have upgraded my coolant pump and I’ve got massive coolant ejection from the gap. My guess at the solution is to cut a partial metal panel to screw into the existing holes and join some sort of gasket to the edges of it to fill in the remaining gap between it and the ATC.
