As the title says, on my PCNC 1100 ATC is slow and jerky to retract from its extended position. It has no issue extending at full speed.
I have checked both air tubes, and they have pressure going into the cylinder. I should note that at some point in time, someone crashed the ATC. It was unclear if the ATC was extended into the spindle or if the spindle was lowered into the ATC.
The ATC shroud that hides the tools is a bit bent, but the rails are not damaged in any way.
Likely the valves are out of adjustment or the linear bearings are chattering. One of the Tormach people posted how to adjust the valves/silencers a few months ago.
The ATC logic is pretty good about sensing tray-in jams and throwing an error. I was a beta tester and found some corner cases way back when.
The thing that’s a little counter intuitive with pnuematics is that the adjustment screws on the cylinder fittings control how fast air leaves, not how fast it enters. So if retract is slow, you need to open up the adjuster at the far end a bit to let the air out faster.
