I ordered the Tormach 1500MX for most of the same reasons. Not as powerful or rigid as the X7, but greater travel, supports self-service, no annual software charges, easier to use PathPilot and Tormach support. Also, the X7 has a Siemens controller, but it is entry level with a tiny display screen. Also, I would have to dump another $6,000 on a phase converter.
Wei_Heng_Tan, did you have any problems using your FogBuster. How did you connect to the air supply? What output on Tormach did you use to open the valve for the FogBuster?
Thanks⦠Richard
I actually bought the MQL kit because I prefer to go without flood coolant. Unfortunately it simply did not work for titanium and hardened steel so I have to retrofit Fogbuster.
I used the MQL-kitās solenoid and redid the air supply to use the Fogbuster. Then for the flood coolant output, I wired up a solenoid for air blast (cold air gun) for hard milling. So far so good.
There were some nuances going from stepper on the PCNC770S3 to servo, but thatās about the only challenge. There were no learning curve required with PathPilot so thatās a huge bonus.
Thanks for your thoughts.
